Chloe Kaven is a Graduate of Clearwater High School in the Class of 2016, and is a major recurring character in the series since the first season. She is very kindhearted, and would do anything to help her friends but also doesn't take crap from anyone and can be dramatic at times. She is best friends with Gina Reynolds and Brittany Brith and good friends with Scott Taylor. She was portrayed by Jennette McCurdy. 

Character History[]

Season 1[]

In Anything Could Happen, she first appears when she sees Scott walking home from their first day of high school and runs to catch up to him. He asks her how her first day was, and she says it was stressful and asks him how his was. He tells her he wishes he knew more people, and Chloe explains that Brittany told her that Scott was feeling lonely and that she's there for him despite them not having classes together or seeing each other often. She tells him they can still hang out, and he thanks her. She tells him that friends will come, he just has to be patient and tells him to text her later before heading off. 

In Fuckin' Perfect, she and Brittany are in the bathroom when Caylee runs in with a box of cupcakes. Chloe asks her if she's okay, and Caylee tells them to just leave. Chloe is confused, but complies, shushing Brittany when she complains about how she wants a cupcake. She then rushes Brittany out so Caylee can have privacy.

In This Is How I Disappear (1), she is eating lunch with Brittany and Scott when Brittany asks if her new friend, Harley, can join them. Chloe says she doesn't care and then goes to get lunch with Harley. After they get back, she is dumbfounded when Scott and Harley get together after just meeting, saying they don't wait around.

In This Is How I Disappear (2), she is at lunch with Brittany and Scott when Brittany asks if her friend can join them. Chloe says she doesn't care, and actually leaves to grab lunch with the girl Brittany invites, Harley. When they get back, Harley and Scott immediately start to date, which shocks Chloe, who comments how they don't wait around.

In Radar, Chloe arrives in the lunch room with Gina and finds Scott, saying that he wanted to tell them something. Scott explains they they are some of his best friends and he's known them the longest, so he thought they deserve to know where he is taking his life. Chloe is worried that he is moving, but Scott tells her that he isn't and that he is bisexual. Chloe takes it very well, not finding it a big deal and admitting she thought he was about to tell them something life threatening. Gina doesn't take it well, starting to say very hateful things about gay people. Chloe tells her not to be mean, and tells Scott she's proud of him for having the bravery to tell people. As Gina continues to spout her hateful religious views, Chloe sees them starting to affect Scott and pulls Gina away. Once they are alone, she tells Gina to stop, and Gina says she's not being mean and is just speaking God's truth. Chloe reminds her that Scott is bi, not athiest. As Gina mentions Scott won't get into heaven if he sleeps with a man, Chloe shrugs her off and says that Scott is one of the most caring people she knows, so she's not worried about him getting into heaven. Chloe is very annoyed with Gina's hateful behavior, but drops it, seeing as they're not going to agree.

The next day, she sits down in class next to Brittany, who asks how Scott's coming out went. Chloe explains it was a disaster since Gina is as actually a homophobe who wants to make Scott straight. Brittany is disgusted and changes the subject, asking Chloe if she has a date to Homecoming. Chloe says that she doesn't, and will probably just go with friends. Brittany tells her about Levi and how she's going to ask him when she sees him at Scott's youth group that night. Chloe mentions how that sounds spicy, but takes it back since they're going to be in a church. Brittany asks her if it's wrong to make out in a church, and Chloe thinks about it, but tells Brittany not to try it.

The next day, Chloe mentions to Brittany that she heard she got rejected by Levi and apologizes, saying she feels bad. Brittany seems over it, and Chloe tells her she can't rush things and maybe in the future they'll be together. Brittany suggests they go to Homecoming as friends along with Gina and Scott, but Chloe isn't sure they're even talking anymore, explaining that she's not sure they ever made up after Gina made such mean comments. Brittany wonders if the drama will ever end, and Chloe doesn't think so, saying it's what high school is all about.

In Dancing On My Own (1), Chloe is at the Homecoming dance with Brittany, Gina, and Eliza when Olivia comes over and asks her and the others if they have seen Scott anywhere. Chloe tells her that she hasn't, but seems worried, asking her if everything is okay. Although she can tell Olivia is lying when she says everything is fine, she doesn't pry and wishes her luck in finding him.

  • She has had a long time romance with Brad Craymer, although they never officially dated until over a year after they started going out.
  • She was accepted to Cornell, Miami, and Banting Universities, but chose Cornell.
